About Us

Dr Leah Fox, PhD — Helping People Make Better Decisions

Dr Leah Fox is an academic leader, researcher, and executive coach who has spent more than two decades studying one question: how do people make good decisions when the stakes are high, the information is incomplete, and the pressure is on?

Leah is Dean of the College of Leadership and Innovation at Buckinghamshire New University and a Visiting Professor at Fairleigh Dickinson University, where she teaches professional decision-making, transformational leadership, and social empowerment. She holds a PhD from the University of Portsmouth — where she spent nearly a decade as a senior lecturer in risk, security, intelligence, and professional decision-making — alongside an MBA from the University of Warwick and degrees in criminal justice from John Jay College in New York.

Decision-Making as a Discipline

Leah's work is grounded in fields where poor judgment has real consequences: aviation, security, criminal investigation, and organisational risk. Her research and teaching focus on what she calls the paradox of automation — the more intelligent our systems become at handling routine operations, the more valuable human judgment becomes during ambiguity, disruption, and decision-making under pressure.

She brings that same thinking to individuals and teams: replacing gut-feel and guesswork with systems thinking over silo thinking, structured judgment, ethical clarity, and the confidence to decide and act — even when the picture is incomplete.

How We Work

Through Leah Fox Consulting Group, Leah's approach is practical, not theoretical. Whether coaching executives through complex organisational choices or helping individuals untangle a difficult crossroads, the goal is the same: understand what actually matters, see what's tripping you up, stop the spiralling, and move forward with direction. Better decisions aren't a talent you're born with — they're a skill you can build.
